WE DID IT!!!

Wahoo!!! We finally bought our tickets to Italy! So Milan, Venice, Rome...here we come! I have been checking airfare for months and months AND stalling because we didn't know if we should take the boys or find an extremely kind relative to take them in... One of my friends said that asking someone to watch your kids for an extended period of time, is like asking someone for their kidney. Ha, ha, but definitely a true comparison. I think that having them on an airplane for 20 hours may be worse than giving someone my kidney. My boys are great, but they are 2 and 4 years old AND 13 days is a long time. Alelujah...Dave's sister graciously accepted the challenge, even with her additional 4 children.

We will be spending half of our time around Milan, visiting Dave's parents, and we are planning to also visit Rome and Venice. If anyone has ideas of great places to stay, things to see or general Italy traveling tips, I would love to hear them! Ciao!!

The Naughty Corner

Porter had to sit in the Naughty Corner the other day, which is at the end of the hall. When it was time for him to come out he said, "I want a new house Mommy." I asked why and he responded, "I want a house that doesn't have a Naughty Place." I assured him that ALL houses have Naughty Places. He replied, "Well, how about a house with a window in the Naughty Place then?" Oh, I laughed and laughed and gave him a big hug and tickle.

This is little Dave in Kindergarten. I found it on a CD the other day and just had to share. So cute!!! Just makes you want to pick him up and take him home, good thing I have Big Dave and Little Dave #2 at home already.

This morning Porter did not want to change out of his pajamas. I insisted that he needed to and he told me, "Mom, you're ruining Brigham City!" I had to laugh, I can already hear him in ten years saying, "You're ruining my life!"

Yeah!!! My blog graciously accepts this award from our wonderful friend Emily Adams (what a great name...the Adams Family:) This award must have been given for content rather than artistic expression. Either way thank you for the award and my blog would like to thank my wonderful boys for being so cute in pictures and doing so many funny things to write about. January Blah!!

Not sure about everyone else, but January is a "blah" month for me. The holidays are over and it's cold, the roads are horrible so it's hard to go anywhere, the kids are driving me crazy cooped up in the house, I feel like I can't keep anything clean with the snow/mud getting tracked in and toys spread everywhere. I did however, find some fabulous after Christmas sales. And I am finally getting things organized, at least in the non-child accessible parts of the house. I also spent some quality time with the dentist last week and 7 crowns, 1 bridge and 1 filling later, I sure do have some nice pearly whites. OUCH!!!!!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

It finally snowed!!! The boys LOVE it, I'm not a big fan, but at least it feels more like Christmas. Dave was in Florida all last week testing a weapon that he made for the Air Force. The tests went well and now other military branches are wanting in on the new weapon as well. YEAH- more contracts!!! (I'm proud of you babe and so happy to have you home, I love you Dave.) I'm glad he doesn't have to travel too often.

Christmas with a 3 year old is so much fun. This is the first year that Porter understands Santa and Jesus and presents. I bought a little advent elf and we put a note in each pocket with an activity to do leading up to the big day. Every morning Porter is so excited to see what the note is. The other night the note said, "Watch a Christmas show", so we watched "The Santa Clause" and Porter loved it. After the show, he got out a pencil and paper and starting writing. I asked what he was doing and he said he was writing a letter to Santa. I told him that we already did that a few weeks ago (nervous because I already bought his "Santa gift"). He replied, "I don't think a toy kitchen will fit in Santa's sleigh, it looked pretty small, I'm writing to tell him to tie it to a reindeer." How cute is that? I smiled as I watched him take his folded note and set it out on our front porch.
